COMING TO LIFE.

Things have started to move quickly since we signed the paperwork for our building. We have been developing a plan for the space. As it sits we have roughly 70 seats with an option up to 85. This is an extremely roomy taproom with plenty of room for people to stand or walk around the space. Our occupancy will land somewhere between 100-150.

Last month was extremely busy. We have completed a slew of new applications with the city and began learning the legal city and state processes to get this project off the ground. We applied for a local county business license and fictitious business name. This process takes about 5 weeks to ensure anyone with the same business name has an opportunity to speak up so we don’t duplicate names.

We started our TTB license which is the federal agency that handles alcohol. They also collect the taxes for all of our sales. After this the ABC license will follow.

We moved all the equipment that we have been storing at my house to the brewery, turned on utilities, and started to clean up the property.

We attended an event that the City of Fillmore hosted. The theme was disaster preparedness. It was low key and we met 3 of the 5 city council members. Earlier this week I met with the local Fire Chief and he introduced me to everyone at the event. We have made contacts with local Rotary, Lyons Club and city social media reps.

This last month we have met and the Owners of Topa Topa, Trantula Hill, Telco, Seaward, and Naughty Pine Breweries. They all own breweries in Ventura County. All of them have been extremely helpful and offered to help at different points in the process. Looking forward to meeting the rest of them in the following months.

We should be finalizing architectural plans at the end of the month and submitting them to the city. This is a critical step that will dictate the general timeline for the project.
